Pure Omega Ultra HP provides omega-3 essential polyunsaturated fatty acids that have distinct chemical structures and physiologic functions.

EPA and DHA are abundantly enriched in the retina, brain, and heart tissues. Each have preferential distribution within the phospholipid bilayer of cell membranes and have been shown to exert unique biological actions.
  1. Humans have limited capacity to endogenously produce EPA and DHA, dietary supplementation of EPA and DHA is an effective way to increase intake of these essential fatty acids.
  2. Omega-3 fatty acids compete with other fatty acids in the body for cyclooxygenase (COX) and lipoxygenase (LOX) enzyme metabolism, incorporation into cell membranes, and the synthesis of lipid mediators.
  3. The long-chain omega-3 fatty acids, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are almost exclusively marine-derived and act together to influence membrane fluidity and signal transduction pathways.

Q. Why are vegetarian soft gels not used?
A. Based upon our Research and Development team’s findings, vegetarian soft gels do not provide a sufficient barrier against oxidation when compared to gelatin-based soft gels. The research on vegetarian soft gels is ongoing and with further development, an upgrade offering of a vegetarian gel may be available in the future.

Q. What are the storage requirements for the softgels?
A. The softgels should be stored in room temperature, away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration is not required as the gelatin shell acts as an oxygen barrier to minimize oxidation.

Q. Does this product cause fishy burp backs?
A. No. Pure Omega is broken down within the stomach where the first stage of fat digestion occurs. Due to the purity and stability of the oil, the oil does not have a fishy taste or smell. If burping, in general, without a fishy taste occurs, consume the Pure Omega products with food.

Q. Where are the fish harvested?
A. The fish are sustainably harvested within the Chilean waters and is certified as Friends of the Sea certification for anchovy from the Pacific Ocean for Sustainable Fisheries organization.

Q. What processing method is used?
A. Pure Omega Ultra HP utilizes molecular distillation, a gentle, low temperature process to prevent the long chain omega-3 fatty acids from oxidizing over time through removing contaminants and pollutants from the fish oil.

Q. Are there any drug or nutrient interactions with fish oil supplements?
