SARS- COV stands for “severe acute respiratory syndrome”. The first Corona viral respiratory illness was first reported in Asia in February 2012, and then in December of 2019, the Novel COVID-19 emerged. The following are medications and supplements that have a high potential in treating or preventing the contraction of COVID-19.
Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ)
Hydroxychloroquine is a medication that was used for a long time to treat Lupus and Rheumatoid arthritis among other disorders. It has a known medical profile and its side effects include headache, dizziness, ringing in the ears, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, mood changes, irritability, hair loss, and skin rash or itchiness.
Currently, it’s not a treatment for COVID-19 but has provided promising results in in vitro studies. The in-vitro study used a loading dose of 400 mg twice on the first day and a maintenance dose of 200 mg twice a day for four days. It has also been used successfully to treat several COVID-19 cases. This is great news because a safe and effective vaccine will take a long time to be developed, but medication like HCQ which has been used for a long time needs only to be repurposed. HCQ simply awaits the results of more studies to be used in active cases.
HCQ is currently in a huge shortage, and there is a fear that it won’t be available for the people who need it. However, within a week or 10 days, HCQ will be available at Welltopia Pharmacy.
Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)
Low-dose Naltrexone which has been used to treat autoimmune diseases Rheumatoid arthritis, irritable bowel syndrome, etc.
it also boosts the immune system.
LDN helps decrease Cytokines which are substances that highly increase when there is severe bodily inflammation. Many COVID-19 patients experience a Cytokine storm for which this medication would be very effective, a good research is available in addition to over 1400 articles/study and paper about how LDN is a wonderful low profile drug with so many uses modulating the immune system..

Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs
There isn’t much information to confirm that taking Ibuprofen is harmful for COVID-19 to patients. However, if you can substitute it for Tylenol, that would be safer.
Blood Pressure Medication
The American Heart Association recommends that COVID-19 patients should continue to take their blood pressure medication unless told otherwise by their physician.
