Digestin

Digestin is a powerful combination of digestive enzymes, and glandular and bile salts formulated to aid in optimal digestion and absorption of food and nutrients.*

Digestive enzymes are complex proteins involved in digestion that stimulate chemical changes in other substances.  They work optimally at specific temperatures and pH.  Digestive enzymes include pancreatic enzymes, plant-derived enzymes, and fungal-derived enzymes.  Papain breaks down tough meat fibers and has been used for thousands of years to tenderize meat eaten in its native South America.  Pepsin is one of the main digestive enzymes which helps digest the proteins in food.  Betaine hydrochloride is an acidic form of betaine and is recommended by some doctors as a supplemental source of hydrochloric acid for people who have a deficiency in stomach acid production.  Bile acids, in the form of oxbile salts, aid in the emulsification and digestion of fats.
