Suggested Use
Pre-peel treatment
1. Stop the use of masks, scrubs, exfoliating agents, self-tanners, products containing AHA, BHA, Vitamin A (Retinol), or any other product that can potentially irritate your skin for 48 hours before applying the peel. 2. Do not shave or wax facial hair for 48 hours before applying the peel. 3. Avoid sun exposure and tanning for 1 week before applying the peel.
Patch test for first-time users
1. Test a small spot under your chin before applying the solution to your entire face to ensure that you have no allergic reaction to the peel. 2. Leave the peel on for no more than 30 seconds. 3. Remove the peel by cleansing the area with water. 4. Wait 24 hours, monitoring skin for redness or irritation.
Peel procedure
1. Complete the patch test; see the previous section. 2. Remove makeup and thoroughly cleanse your face. Pat dry. 3. Apply the glycolic acid solution to a cotton pad or swab and apply to the face starting with the forehead, and working downward to the cheeks and chin. Apply to less sensitive areas first, starting with the forehead, cheeks, and chin, then to the nose and neck. Avoid contact with the eye area, ears, and lips. Before applying the peel, you may apply petroleum jelly to areas not to be touched by the acid, such as the eyebrow, eye, nostril, and lip areas.
First-time users
Once the peel is applied to the entire face, leave the product on for no longer than 30 seconds. This important step ensures the skin can tolerate the acid peel before increasing its duration in the next application. The longer the peel is left on, the deeper it penetrates and the longer the recovery time. 4. Once the peel is applied, watch the skin as well as the clock. When skin is turning pink it is time to neutralize the acid peel with water. 5. DO NOT leave the peel on the skin for more than 8 minutes. 6. Stop the peel by thoroughly rinsing the skin with cool water. 7. Gently pat skin dry with a soft towel. 8. Moisturize the skin with a generous amount of YEOUTH Day/Night Cream or YEOUTH L-22 Moisturizer.
Post-peel treatment
1. Do not exercise or induce sweat for 2 hours after applying the peel. 2. Do not use exfoliating scrubs for 3-5 days after applying the peel. 3. Do not rub, pick, or scratch skin after applying the peel. This can irritate. 4. Do not use Retinol (Vitamin A) products for 48 hours after applying the peel. 5. Apply YEOUTH Day/ Night Cream or YEOUTH L-22 Moisturizer twice daily. 6. Use the YEOUTH Balancing Facial Toner and any YEOUTH Hyaluronic Acid serum following the peel. 7. Do not wear foundation for 12 hours after applying the peel. 8. Always wear a minimum SPF 15 sunscreen to protect the skin during the day. 9. Avoid the sun for 48 hours after the peel.
Time between treatments
Wait at least 3 weeks before applying another peel, then apply the peel once every 3-4 weeks as maintenance to attain maximum results. Monitor skin during all treatments and discontinue use if redness or burning ensues.
